Working Hours
The Working Hours configuration tab allows you to assign a pre-configured Working Hours Profile to an asset. This setting is essential for defining the expected operational timeframe for the asset and is especially relevant when triggering workflows, generating alerts, or producing performance reports.
Purpose
Working Hours Profiles help organisations differentiate between business and non-business hours across different asset types or locations. These profiles can be assigned at the individual asset level, applied to asset groups, or referenced in workflows and dashboards.
For example:
-
Generate alerts only when an asset operates outside business hours.
-
Filter data by working schedules in dashboards or reports.
-
Apply time-based security group logic.
-
Trigger Custom Events when assets operate outside their expected periods.
How to Assign a Working Hours Profile
To assign a profile to the asset:
-
Navigate to the Configuration section and click the Working Hours tab.
-
Click Edit in the upper right corner.
-
Select a profile from the dropdown menu (e.g., Weekdays, 24/7, or any custom profile).
-
Click Save.
The assigned profile will now be active for that asset.
Working Hours Profiles must first be created under Tenant Settings before they appear in the dropdown list.

Practical Example
If your business operates Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, and you want to be notified only if a vehicle operates outside those hours, assign the Weekdays profile to the asset. Then, in your workflow rule, set alerts to trigger only outside working hours.
Why It Matters
Assigning accurate working hours helps reduce unnecessary alerts, improves operational visibility, and supports more precise exception reporting. This is especially valuable for mixed-use fleets or assets shared across shifts.
