View an Asset Daily, Monthly or Weekly Utilisation

This article explains how to easily surface an asset's actual utilisation on daily, weekly or monthly period, based on trips (ignition on to ignition off).

Perspio helps organisation's better view and manage asset utilisation over a given period, through different lenses:

  • Financial Utilisation (time assigned to a project, or days hired)

  • Operational Utilisation (time out on project, in maintenance, etc...)

  • Actual Utilisation (ignition on to ignition off)

9. Utilisation View

This view provides a snapshot of asset utilisation over the selected period, with each row representing a day and each column a specific time slot. It allows you to quickly spot usage patterns, identify peak activity periods, and pinpoint any anomalies, enabling more effective scheduling and resource optimization.

10. Status of Utilisation

Perspio distinguishes four utilisation statuses—each identified by a distinct colour—to make it easy to see exactly how an asset was used during any given period:

  • Navy (Driving): The asset was actively driven or moved (ignition on) under its own power.

  • Purple (Transport): The asset was being carried or towed (ignition off), for example on a trailer or flatbed.

  • Blue (Motor): The engine was running while the asset remained stationary (idling, warm-up, standby, or PTO/off-road engine use).

  • Red (Working): The asset was engaged in on-the-job operations (PTO-driven attachments, loading/unloading, digging, pumping, etc.).

The utilisation statuses are influenced by the asset type and the specific device model linked to it. Various devices on particular assets may produce or fail to produce different utilisation statuses.
