Utilisation Detailed Report

Evaluate operational output and efficiency trends across your fleet using cumulative meter readings.

Overview

The Utilisation Detailed report provides a performance-focused breakdown of asset usage over a selected time period, tracking the cumulative change in value of odometer and runtime meters across your fleet. Each row represents a daily (or hourly) meter snapshot per asset, enabling teams to analyse real-world utilisation in kilometres and engine hours.

This report is particularly valuable for calculating accurate asset deployment, comparing meter sources, and supporting maintenance scheduling based on actual usage. Grouping by time intervals allows trends to surface while accommodating meter variations from different telemetry sources.

Report Structure

The generated report includes the following data columns:

Column Name Description
Date The specific day or hour of the reading (based on the grouping selection).
Start Time Timestamp for the beginning of the utilisation window.
End Time Timestamp for the end of the utilisation window.
Start Odometer (km) The odometer reading at the start of the period.
End Odometer (km) The odometer reading at the end of the period.
Total Distance (km) The difference between start and end odometer readings, representing daily or hourly travel distance.
Start Run Hours The recorded engine run hours at the start of the period.
End Run Hours The recorded engine run hours at the end of the period.
Total Runtime (h) The delta of engine hours for the period, representing total runtime.

A timestamp is included at the bottom of the report, confirming the generation date and the local time zone applied (e.g., AEST).

How to Generate the Report

  1. Navigate to Reports → Utilisation Detailed.

  2. Select your Scope – either Relative (e.g., This Week, This Month) or Range (specific date selection).

  3. Define the Period – e.g., 01/11/2025 to 30/11/2025.

  4. Use the Asset Selector to choose one or more assets. Example: [53] GO9: Holden Barina.

  5. Choose the Group By interval – either By Day or By Hour.

  6. Select your preferred Meter Source:

    • Preferred (default and recommended)

    • Actual (raw device value)

    • Customer (manually entered)

    • Perspio (calculated)

  7. Optionally, filter by Asset Type (On-Road or Off-Road).

  8. Click Run Report.

Results will be displayed in a tabular preview, which can be downloaded in PDF, PDF/A, XLSX or CSV format.

Applicability and Use Cases

1. Maintenance Scheduling

Use odometer and engine hour deltas to plan routine servicing, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and minimising downtime.

2. Asset Utilisation Monitoring

Track actual usage per asset across time. Helps uncover underutilised vehicles or machinery for potential reassignment.

3. Runtime vs Distance Analysis

Detect patterns where assets are running without moving (e.g., idling or stationary engine use), which can influence fuel and maintenance strategy.

4. Meter Source Verification

By switching between Preferred, Actual, or Perspio values, users can audit the accuracy of incoming meter data and validate device consistency.

5. Support for Billing or Usage-Based Charges

Generate reports for clients who require usage-based rental or operational charging, based on total km or run-hours used.

Interpreting the Data

  • Small or zero deltas may indicate non-usage or device communication issues.

  • Large differences between start and end odometer readings represent high travel days.

  • Runtime values may increase without odometer movement if the asset idled in place.

  • Gaps in data or anomalies may highlight telemetry configuration issues or periods of inactivity.

Summary

The Utilisation Detailed report provides a clear, structured view of fleet activity using trusted meter data. With daily or hourly breakdowns of kilometres travelled and hours run, it supports maintenance forecasting, operational benchmarking, and compliance assurance. This report is essential for teams seeking transparent, usage-driven fleet management.
