Temperature Detailed Report

Understand and interpret detailed temperature telemetry data for cold-chain, asset condition, and compliance monitoring.

Overview

The Temperature Detailed report provides a comprehensive breakdown of all individual temperature readings recorded by a selected asset. It displays raw telemetry values from each configured sensor input without applying any internal averaging, calculations, or thresholds.

This report is designed to give users full visibility over temperature fluctuations throughout the reporting period, enabling compliance with cold-chain requirements, verification of refrigeration performance, and detection of abnormal temperature trends.

Each row in the report corresponds to a single timestamped reading from a specific temperature sensor signal, such as zone1ReturnAirTemperature. The report can be especially useful for quality assurance, food safety audits, monitoring of vaccine transport, and troubleshooting refrigeration equipment.

Report Structure

The generated report includes the following data columns:

Column Name Description
Timestamp The exact date and time the reading was captured, based on telemetry input.
Signal The name of the temperature signal or input channel (e.g., zone1ReturnAirTemperature).
Reading (°C) The temperature value in degrees Celsius, as recorded by the sensor.

A graph is automatically rendered at the top of the report to provide a visual summary of temperature trends across the selected period. This allows users to quickly spot peaks, troughs, and recurring temperature cycles.

At the bottom of the report, a generation timestamp confirms when the report was produced, including the local time zone for context.

How to Generate the Report

  1. Navigate to Reports → Asset Telemetry → Temperature Detailed.

  2. Select the Scope:

    • Relative (e.g., Today, This Week, This Month)

    • or Range (custom date range using calendar selector).

  3. Choose one or more Assets from the dropdown list.

  4. Click Run Report.

Once generated, results are displayed in both a chart and a detailed table. The report can be exported to PDF, PDF/A, XLSX or CSV formats for compliance, archiving, or further analysis.

Applicability and Use Cases

The Temperature Detailed report has wide-ranging applications in industries where temperature monitoring is critical:

  1. Cold Chain Compliance and Food Safety
Ensures temperature-sensitive goods like perishable foods, pharmaceuticals, or chemicals are transported within allowable ranges.
  2. Performance Verification of Refrigeration Units
Allows maintenance teams to validate correct operation of HVAC or refrigeration systems and detect sensor anomalies.
  3. Incident Investigation and Alerts Review
By correlating timestamped readings with alarm events or complaints, operational teams can investigate reported issues more accurately.
  4. Quality Assurance Documentation
Provides traceability and historical records for audits, insurance claims, and client-facing compliance reporting.
  5. Continuous Environmental Monitoring
Can be used in static or semi-mobile environments (e.g., cool rooms, warehouses, laboratories) to validate internal environmental stability.

Interpreting the Data

  • Stable readings typically indicate good environmental control.

  • Sudden spikes or drops may signify door openings, power outages, or mechanical faults.

  • Repeated patterns can reveal daily cycles tied to external temperature or usage conditions.

  • Sensor flatlines may suggest a disconnected or malfunctioning device.

  • High granularity provides exact evidence of when conditions were outside set thresholds.

Summary

The Temperature Detailed report is a key diagnostic and compliance tool for any business dealing with temperature-sensitive environments. By providing accurate, timestamped telemetry readings, it empowers users to maintain quality control, ensure compliance, and improve asset visibility through detailed environmental monitoring.
