Temperature Compliance Report

Visualise and audit historical temperature data for telemetry-equipped assets to ensure cold chain and compliance adherence.

Overview

The Temperature Compliance report provides a detailed graphical and tabular representation of temperature readings over time, drawn from telemetry devices installed in refrigerated or climate-sensitive assets. It is designed to help users validate that asset environments have remained within safe temperature thresholds, particularly in the context of food safety, pharmaceutical transport, or refrigerated logistics.

Each report captures timestamped temperature values logged during a selected period, alongside any recorded breaches of temperature thresholds. The graphical section offers a plotted trend of the readings, while the tabular section logs the precise signal names, values, and event context. This report is essential for maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring product quality through continuous monitoring of environmental conditions.

Report Structure

The generated report includes the following data columns:

Column Name Description
Timestamp The exact date and time when each temperature reading was captured by the telemetry device.
Signal Identifies the sensor or telemetry input associated with the temperature reading (e.g., zone1/ReturnAirTemperature).
Reading (°C) The numerical temperature value recorded by the signal, in degrees Celsius.
Event Captures context for the reading, such as whether it occurred during a breach, or under normal conditions. Can be used to isolate events for compliance auditing.

The visual chart at the top of the report shows the progression of temperature readings over time, making it easier to identify trends, spikes, or sustained deviations. A footer confirms when the report was generated, including the local time zone for traceability.

How to Generate the Report

  1. Navigate to Reports → Temperature Compliance.

  2. Select the Scope:

    • Relative (e.g., This Week, Last Month), or

    • Range (custom date selection).

  3. Choose the appropriate Time Period.

  4. Use the Asset Selector to include one or more refrigerated assets (e.g., those using Teltonika, Milesight, Cooltrax, or Carrier devices).

  5. Choose the Events Filter, such as Temperature Breach Start or Temperature Breach End, if needed.

  6. Click Run Report.

Once processed, a temperature trend chart and a detailed table are presented. The results can be exported as PDF, PDF/A for audit, or XLSX, CSV for further analysis.

Applicability and Use Cases

The Temperature Compliance report is an essential tool in industries where cold chain integrity is critical. Key use cases include:

  1. Cold Chain Validation
Ensures temperature-sensitive goods (e.g., food, medicine) were transported within safe limits. Enables post-trip validation for audits or compliance reporting.

  2. Breach Event Analysis
Filters specific events (e.g., Breach Start) to identify when and where violations occurred. Useful for identifying operational gaps or refrigeration failures.

  3. Graphical Oversight of Telemetry
The temperature graph provides a visual tool to quickly spot inconsistencies, cyclical cooling patterns, or abnormal sensor behaviours.

  4. Device and Sensor Health
Sudden drops, gaps, or repeated patterns may indicate calibration issues, battery problems, or disconnected sensors.

  5. Client and QA Reporting
Enables companies to present evidence of maintained compliance with regulations (e.g., HACCP, FSANZ), improving transparency and customer trust.

Interpreting the Data

  • Gradual temperature shifts may indicate door opening, compressor cycles, or normal fluctuations.

  • Sharp spikes or prolonged excursions should be investigated as possible refrigeration failures or handling issues.

  • Missing or flatline data can be a sign of sensor disconnection or power loss.

  • Events marked in the 'Event' column denote critical breaches or transitions and should be reviewed for action or escalation.

Summary

The Temperature Compliance report offers a transparent and traceable method for validating the thermal performance of refrigerated assets. Whether you're monitoring compliance across a large fleet or auditing individual trips, this report delivers both precision and context—empowering teams to uphold cold chain integrity and mitigate operational risk.
