Proximity Search (Historical)

The Proximity Search (Historical) feature enables users to explore past locations of assets within specified geographic areas over a chosen timeframe. This tool is critical for retrospective analysis, facilitating route optimization, operational audits, and investigating historical asset movements.

Proximity Search (Historical) is an invaluable analytical tool, providing clarity on asset histories and aiding in informed decision-making through detailed retrospective geographic analysis.

Functionalities in Detail:

  • Historical Asset Identification:

    • Searches and identifies assets that have previously been within a specified geographic area.

    • Essential for understanding past asset utilization and improving operational strategies.

  • Date Range Selection:

    • Users can define the exact historical time range for the search.

    • Allows targeted inquiries into past asset locations for precise historical analysis.

  • Interactive Radius Definition:

    • Users can customize the radius to target specific geographical areas historically.

    • Offers precise control over the scope of historical searches, enhancing analytical accuracy.

 

Performing a Historical Proximity Search:

  1. Select the Proximity Search (Historical) option from the search module.

  2. Enter your desired date range or switch to Relative to select a predetermined period in the provided fields to define the historical period.

  3. On the interactive map, use the radius adjustment slider to set the area size.

  4. Position your search area by dragging the radius circle to your area of interest.

  5. Adjust the zoom control for better geographic context and accuracy.

  6. Click the Run Query button to retrieve historical data of assets within the defined parameters.

  7. Use the icons next to the asset name to zoom to asset, view its activity on the day and Geofences it's in.
  8. According to the period set, the map will display the movement of the assets shown on the selected spot.

 

Map and Search Controls:

  • Zoom Control:

    • Adjusts the map scale for broader geographic views or detailed local analysis.

  • Radius Adjustment Slider:

    • Dynamically alters the search radius to specify the geographic area of interest.

  • Drag & Drop Functionality:

    • Allows users to reposition the radius circle intuitively to pinpoint the exact area of interest.

  • Theme/Layer Toggle:

    • Offers options to switch between different map views, including satellite imagery, or terrain views, providing varied contextual information.

  • Period Input Field:

    • Users specify the historical search period clearly using date range inputs, ensuring focused analysis.

  • Map Interaction Tools:

    • Includes zoom buttons, interactive dragging for navigation, and a fullscreen mode, optimizing the user experience and map interaction precision.
