How to Edit Field Labels in Asset Details
Learn how to edit field labels in Asset Details in Perspio. This step-by-step guide shows how to navigate to Admin, Tenant, Assets, and Editor, select a field, update its label, and save the change so users see the correct wording in asset records. Unused fields can also be hidden.
Overview
The Assets Editor in Admin lets you change how fields are labelled in Asset Details. This is useful when you want the interface to use terminology that better matches your business, customer language, or operational process.
For example, you may want to rename a field label such as Location to something more suitable for your users.
This article walks through how to open the Assets Editor, select a field, and update its label.

Before you start
Before editing a field label, make sure:
- you have access to Admin
- you have permission to manage Tenant settings

Where to edit Asset Details field labels
Field labels for Asset Details are managed from:
Admin → Tenant → Assets → Editor
The Editor is the configuration area where asset fields can be reviewed and adjusted.
How to edit a field label
Step 1 – Open Admin
From the left-hand navigation, select Admin.
This is the main area for tenant-level configuration and setup.

Step 2 – Open Tenant
Within Admin, select Tenant.
The Tenant area contains the configuration settings that control how modules behave in your Perspio environment.

Step 3 – Open Assets
Inside Tenant, select Assets.
This opens the asset-related configuration area, including the field editor used for Asset Details.

Step 4 – Open Editor
Select Editor.
The Editor is used to manage the asset field layout and configuration. This is where you can select individual fields and update their settings.

Step 5 – Edit the field label and save the change
In the Editor, select the field you want to update. This opens the field configuration panel, where you can manage how that field appears in Asset Details.
Use the following screen controls:
- Edit
Select Edit to make the field settings editable. This allows you to update the field label and other editable field properties. - Label field
Update the label text to the new name you want users to see in Asset Details. - Undo
Use Undo to discard unsaved changes made during the current edit session and return the field to its previous saved state. This is useful if you typed the wrong label or want to cancel the update before saving. - Save
Select Save to apply the new label. Once saved, the updated wording will appear anywhere that field is shown in Asset Details.
What this step does
This step allows you to rename the displayed field label without changing the purpose of the field itself. It is used to align Asset Details with your preferred business or customer terminology.

Troubleshooting
I cannot find the field
Check that you are in:
Admin → Tenant → Assets → Editor
Then review the available asset fields carefully.
I changed the label but cannot see the update
Confirm the change was saved. Then refresh the asset view and check Asset Details again.
I do not have access to Editor
Your user profile may not have permission to manage Tenant settings. Contact an administrator with Admin access.
