How to Add New Assets or Telemetry Devices to Perspio

Adding new assets and telemetry devices to your Perspio tenant is a key part of maintaining an up-to-date operational view of your fleet and infrastructure.

This process is supported directly by our Service Desk to ensure your devices are correctly onboarded, mapped, and feeding data into the platform as intended.

Step 1 – Contact the Service Desk

Perspio is a data-driven platform designed to consolidate asset information from various telemetry sources. To ensure compatibility and accuracy, new devices or assets must be registered by our Service Desk team.

To request the onboarding of a new device or asset:

  • Email: servicedesk@perspio.io

  • Include the following details:

    • Device Make and Model (e.g. Queclink GL300, Sensata, Sigfox, etc.)

    • Quantity of Devices

    • Tenant Name

    • Preferred Labels (if any)

    • **Whether the device is already installed or requires staging/setup support)

    • Any documentation provided by your telemetry provider (e.g. API credentials, SIM numbers, IMEI, data format)

Note: If you are unsure which device or hardware suits your use case, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2 – Request Device & Use Case Guidance

If you're unsure which telemetry hardware best fits your operational needs, we’re here to help. Perspio supports a wide range of devices across industries—from cold chain and hire fleets to civil construction and utilities.

To ensure the best match, please include:

  • A short description of the asset type (e.g. trailer, generator, excavator)

  • The data points you need to monitor (e.g. location, run hours, temperature, door open, fuel)

  • The intended use case or operational goal (e.g. maintenance tracking, proof of service, temperature compliance)

  • Any existing telemetry provider (if applicable)

Our Customer Success team can provide tailored recommendations based on tested integrations and use case studies.

What Happens After You Submit a Request

Once your request is received:

  1. Validation: We’ll check device compatibility and data feed requirements.

  2. Configuration: Devices will be configured and mapped to your tenant. This may involve:

    • Custom schemas

    • Device templates

    • API connections or staging (for bulk onboarding)

  3. Asset Linking: Each device will be linked to a New Perspio Asset. These assets act as operational profiles where telemetry, ERP, and other contextual data are consolidated.

  4. Confirmation: We’ll notify you once your devices are online and reporting. You’ll see new assets in your Snapshot, Activity, and Metrics views.
