Driver Behaviour IVMS Report
Review driver behaviour data captured via integrated IVMS-enabled AI Dashcams for safety, compliance, and operational analysis.
Overview
The Driver Behaviour IVMS report provides a consolidated summary of driving performance across assets equipped with Geotab GO9 units and connected AI Dashcams (featuring both road-facing and in-cab lenses). These setups include fatigue and distraction monitoring systems, enabling detailed visibility into risky driving behaviours such as mobile phone use, seatbelt violations, or harsh driving patterns.
This report is designed to support safety compliance, driver coaching, and incident review by surfacing behaviour events recorded during trips within a selected time range.
Each row in the report represents one asset and its aggregated behaviour events for the reporting period.
This report is particularly useful for fleet managers, safety officers, and compliance teams to detect driver risk trends, review IVMS compliance, and take corrective or proactive safety actions.
Report Structure
The generated report includes the following data columns:
| Column Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Asset Id | Internal ID assigned to the asset. Useful for filtering or lookup in other modules. |
| Trips | Total number of trips recorded within the selected date range. |
| Distance (km) | Cumulative distance travelled by the asset in kilometres during the selected period. |
| Distracted Driving | Count of events where the driver exhibited signs of distraction. Typically captured via AI Dashcam analysis. |
| Tamper | Number of tamper events triggered when the device was removed, blocked, or interfered with. |
| Cell Phone Use | Number of instances where mobile phone usage was detected during vehicle operation. |
| Seatbelt Violations | Number of violations where the driver was detected not wearing a seatbelt. |
| Speeding | Count of speeding events recorded by the Geotab device relative to local road limits. |
| Accidents | Number of collisions or harsh incidents flagged as potential accidents. |
| Score | Safety score calculated by the IVMS system. A higher score indicates safer driving behaviour. Usually shown as a number between 0.000 and 1.000. |
At the bottom of the report, a generation timestamp confirms when the report was produced, including the local time zone for context.
How to Generate the Report
-
Navigate to Reports → Driver Behaviour IVMS.

-
Click Run Report.
Once generated, results are displayed in a table and can be exported to PDF, PDF/A, XLSX or CSV.
Applicability and Use Cases
The Driver Behaviour IVMS report plays a key role in managing risk, ensuring compliance, and promoting safe driving culture across your fleet. Common use cases include:
1. Driver Safety & IVMS Compliance
-
Monitor and verify compliance with IVMS standards for seatbelt usage, mobile phone restrictions, and fatigue management.
2. Coaching & Behaviour Improvement
-
Use data to identify drivers with recurring behaviour events and implement coaching programs or automated feedback loops.
3. Fatigue & Distraction Monitoring
-
Leverage distraction and fatigue indicators from AI Dashcams to proactively mitigate the risk of incidents.
4. Risk Management & Insurance
-
Demonstrate adherence to safety policies using measurable metrics. Useful for insurance reviews and incident defence.
5. Operational Review & Scorecarding
-
Use trip count, distance, and scoring to benchmark driver performance across the fleet and track behavioural trends over time.
Interpreting the Data
-
Zero trips or 0 km travelled: May indicate the asset is offline, inactive, or was not in use during the period.
-
High distraction or seatbelt violations: Suggest review of the relevant footage and possible safety interventions.
-
Low IVMS Score (e.g., under 0.5): Indicates risky behaviour trends and should prompt investigation or training.
-
Frequent tamper events: May suggest intentional interference with the device or installation issues.
Summary
The Driver Behaviour IVMS report is a powerful tool for safety-focused fleet operators. By combining trip-level activity with intelligent behaviour detection, it empowers organisations to improve driver accountability, reduce risk, and maintain a compliant and safe operating environment. Regular review of this report ensures continuous improvement in road behaviour and adherence to IVMS policies.
