Add an Image to an Asset in Perspio
Learn how to upload an image to an asset in Perspio, confirm it appears in the asset image list, and use the image actions for Edit, Download, Delete, and Set Image as Favourite.

This article explains how to add an image to an asset in the Perspio Inspector module.
Adding images to an asset record helps teams keep important visual information directly on the asset, such as:

Compliance evidence

Damage records

Before/after service images
-
Identification photos (labels, serial plates, etc.)

Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure:

You are logged in to Perspio
-
You have access to the Inspector module
-
You have permission to view and update the relevant asset record

The image file is available on your device
How to Add an Image to an Asset in Perspio Inspector
Step 1: Open the Inspector module
From the Perspio main navigation, click Inspector.
What this screen does

Opens the Inspector workspace where asset records are listed and managed.

Inspector (menu item): Opens the Inspector module

Depending on your tenant setup, you may also see search and filter controls
Step 2: Open the relevant asset record
Click the asset record you want to update (example shown: 133…).
What this screen does

Opens the selected asset record so you can view and manage images, files, links, and other details.

Record row / asset ID: Opens the selected asset record

The asset usually opens in a drawer/panel

Step 3: Open the images panel
In the asset drawer, click the images indicator/control (example shown as 1).
What this screen does

Opens the images panel for the selected asset record.

The number typically indicates how many images are already attached to the asset.

Images icon / count badge (e.g., 1): Opens the image list/panel for the asset
Usability note
-
If no images exist yet, this may show 0 or a different icon depending on your tenant/version.

Step 4: Click Add Image
Click Add Image to start the image upload process.
What this screen does

Opens the upload panel for adding a new image to the asset record.

Step 5: Click browse files
Click browse files and select the image from your device.
What this screen does

Opens your device file picker so you can choose the image to upload.

Depending on your setup, a drag-and-drop area may also be available

Select a clear image file for easier identification later

If supported, you may be able to upload additional images the same way
Step 6: Click Upload 1 file
After selecting the image, click Upload 1 file.
What this screen does

Uploads the selected image and attaches it to the asset record.

Upload 1 file: Confirms and starts the upload

This button may only become active once a file has been selected
Step 7: Confirm the image appears in the asset image list
After the upload completes, confirm the image appears in the image register/list (example shown with the uploaded image path/name).
What to check

The uploaded image is visible in the asset image list

It is attached to the correct asset record
-
The image action icons are visible on the image entry
Important: Image actions shown on the image register
The icons on the image register are:

Edit: Update image details (for example, label/name if supported)

Download: Download the image file
-
Delete: Remove the image from the asset

Set Image as Favourite: Marks the image as the preferred image and moves it to the top of the list

Troubleshooting
I cannot see the images option
-
Confirm the asset drawer is open
-
Check your permissions for viewing/editing asset images

Refresh the page and reopen the asset record
The upload button does not work

Confirm an image file has been selected
-
Check your internet connection
-
Refresh the upload panel and try again
The image does not appear after upload

Refresh the asset record or reopen the images panel
-
Confirm you uploaded to the correct asset

Check for file size or file type restrictions in your environment
I set the wrong image as Favourite

Use Set Image as Favourite on the correct image entry

The newly selected favourite should move to the top of the list
I accidentally deleted an image
-
Re-upload the image from your device
-
If needed, retrieve it from your local files or backups

Images are attached to the specific asset record you opened

Use the Favourite image option to prioritise the most important image (for example, the main asset photo)

Keeping current images on the asset record improves visibility for support, service, and operations teams
